Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is eligible for scholarships?

    Economically disadvantaged children who:

    • Are living in the counties of Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and Warren, New Jersey
    • Are entering grades K-12 at an accredited, previously approved, values-based school

  • How are recipients selected?

    Applications are reviewed and income-verified by an objective, third-party service - FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.  Recipients are selected based on need and scholarships are awarded without regard to gender, race, religion, or ethnic background.

  • Do recipient families pay any tuition?

    Yes.  Recipient families are responsible to the school for any additional tuition and fees beyond the scholarship provided.

  • How are schools selected?

    Schools that wish to partner with Hope Through Education may submit an application to join the Hope Alliance of Schools. If approved, schools will be notified and added to our Partner Schools List.

  • What schools do scholarship recipients attend?

    Hope Through Education collaborates with a number of accredited quality, values-based schools. See list of approved schools in the “Apply” section.

  • What does “values-based” mean?

    We define a “values-based” educational experience as one that furthers a student’s social, cultural, and intellectual development.  This experience is fostered by a learning environment that consistently inspires every student to excel. All members of the educational community conduct themselves with honesty, integrity, respect, and are committed to serving others, especially those in need.
